SNAKE RIVER PRESBYTERY

Snake River Presbytery seeks to be a covenant community of congregations, leaders, and ministries called to participate in God’s reconciling work in the world (2 Corinthians 5:18).

Rooted in the grace of Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and shaped by the promises of Scripture, we seek to nurture a vibrant and faithful church for every time and place. We are called to:

  • Strengthen congregations as centers of worship, service, and transformation;

  • Empower leaders — teaching elders, ruling elders, commissioned ruling elders, and other servants of the gospel — with care, accountability, and support; and

  • Cultivate relationships marked by trust, humility, and mutual encouragement across boundaries of geography, theology, and experience.

We walk alongside communities in times of joy and struggle, trusting that the body of Christ is made stronger when each part is honored

(1 Corinthians 12).

We encourage ministries that do justice, love kindness, and walk

humbly with God

(Micah 6:8).

We embrace a vision of church shaped by the expansive, inclusive love of God revealed in Jesus Christ

(Galatians 3:28).

With gratitude for our Presbyterian heritage, and with great hope for the new thing God is doing, we embrace a wilderness experience that is both challenging and renewing.  (Isaiah 43:18-19).  As our streams and springs of ministry join together with God’s mighty river in the desert, we seek to be a presbytery where relationships matter, all voices are valued, and the Spirit equips us for courageous, collaborative ministry.
